Winter/Spring 2010

Its 'Transition Education' time with Somerset Skills and learning offering a whole host of free courses and events including a 'Celebrating Transition Towns week' which is taking place in 5 different towns in Somerset. There's our regular Transition Open-space events as well as plenty for kids of all ages at Paddington Farm and a whole forestry fortnight at Tinkers Bubble. Wednesday 24th February Pilton Go Green Group are having an 'Any Green Questions?' evening 7.30pm to 9.00pm at Pilton Village Hall. This is an opportunity for local electors to put questions to a panel of representatives of the main political parties. There will be Prospective Parliamentary Candidates for the Liberal Democrats, Labour, Green Party and representatives of the Conservatives and UKIP. If you have any questions please e-mail them to osbornepilton.co.uk or place in the box in the foyer of Pilton Village Hall. Members of the panel will be given the questions a few minutes before the start of the session. This promises to be an informative evening so please pass this information on. Refreshments given. ---

Saturday 13th March video link with Sustainable Frome. This is an experiment to look at how different communities could link up in a low carbon way by leaving the car in the garage and using modern technology! The theme is Post Copenhagen - Somer-hagen where do we go from here?


Saturday 13th March Be the Change Symposium in Glastonbury at St. Mary's Hall, Magdalene Street,10.30am - 5pm. £25 waged/ £15 unwaged - includes a delicious vegetarian lunch.

Current climate, economic and social challenges demand our immediate attention and action, yet these issues are a part of a much deeper rooted fundamental crisis. By exploring the deep connection between environmental sustainability, spiritual fulfillment and social justice, the symposium is a day of interactive presentations, DVD and group work, taking us on a journey deep into our own indigenous hearts, awakening the dreamer and changing the dream.
